About Museum of Arts and Design

MAD occupies the rebuilt tower at 2 Columbus Circle, clad in glazed ceramic tile. Its seventh floor is an open room with floor-to-ceiling windows over Central Park and Columbus Circle. On the lower level, the Theater at MAD has been restored to its mid-century look with a gold lame ceiling, bronze doors and walnut walls.

The seventh floor takes 150 for a reception, 120 theater style or 85 seated. The theater seats 143 and projects DCP, 35mm and 16mm with Dolby surround, and its lobby holds 60. The ground-floor atrium with a suspended stair takes about 110 but stays open to the public.
