Lotte New York Palace sits behind St. Patrick's Cathedral, with its public rooms set inside the Villard Houses, a group of 1880s brownstone mansions designed by McKim, Mead and White. The Villard Ballroom is an oval room with a two-tier ceiling, domed recesses and crystal chandeliers. Next door are mansion rooms with original murals, carved wood and a grand marble stair.
The ballroom takes up to 450 guests for a reception or 330 in theater rows, and it opens onto the Villard Foyer and the Reid Salon for cocktails or pre-function. Smaller mansion rooms such as the Madison Room, the Drawing Room and the Library take 80 to 160 guests for dinners or VIP breakouts. The hotel has 30,000 sq ft of event space in total, and a private dinner can stay in the mansion while a larger reception runs in the ballroom.
