The private third-floor room of New York's best-known used bookstore, walled in rare and signed editions, for a dinner or launch that trades on literary history.
The Strand has sold books at Broadway and 12th Street since 1957, and its Rare Book Room occupies the third floor. Floor-to-ceiling wood cases hold leather-bound sets and signed first editions, with warm lamp light and windows over Broadway. It reads as a private library rather than a shop floor.
The room takes up to 180 standing or 110 seated. The store supplies audio and video support, a podium, stage pieces, tables and chairs, plus access to a half kitchen and two dressing rooms. Catering runs through Great Performances.

Seats 110 at tables framed by rare book cases.
