A ground-floor bookstore behind an 18 ft glass front on Broadway, with a skylit salon and inlaid floors, that gives design, fashion and publishing launches a room with its own point of view.
Rizzoli fills the ground floor of the St. James Building, a short walk north of Madison Square Park. An 18 ft by 34 ft glass facade opens into rooms with 18 ft ceilings, dark wood shelving, hand-painted wall panels and a black and white patterned floor. The main event room, the Salon, sits under a peaked skylight with tall windows along one side.
The Salon takes 100 to 150 guests depending on layout, and the adjoining Skylight Room can be added. A full buyout of the store holds 300 to 400. The store lists book parties, cocktail receptions, seated dinners and press events among the formats it hosts.
The glass Broadway front and red pivot door make an entrance for a reveal.
