A 110,000 sq ft studio complex on a Hudson River pier with column-free rooms, river decks and a production-grade LED stage, built for launches that need to be designed from the floor up.
Pier59 Studios opened in 1995 on the second floor of Pier 59 at Chelsea Piers and is known for photo production and New York Fashion Week shows. The complex runs eleven column-free studios, most with skylights and river-facing windows, plus Stage C, a 6,500 sq ft room with 45 ft ceilings, a 65 ft curved LED wall and a 40 ft LED ceiling. A studio cafe opens onto covered decks with views of the Hudson and One World Trade Center.
For events, studios join through retractable walls, such as Studios 4 and 5 at about 5,600 sq ft, and several studios, Stage C, the cafe and decks can run as one program. Stage C and Studio 1 are vehicle accessible, and the building is single tenant during a buyout. In-house teams cover LED playback, livestreaming, audio and catering.
