A two-floor Lower East Side restaurant with a hidden pawn shop entrance and several distinct rooms, so one buyout gives a large party a sequence of spaces instead of one hall.
Beauty & Essex sits behind a working pawn shop storefront on Essex Street, run by Tao Group Hospitality. Guests walk through the shop into a ground floor dining room with an oval skylight, then up a spiral staircase that wraps a two-story chandelier. The rooms are dark, candlelit and layered with gold, leather and vintage detail.
A full buyout covers about 10,000 sq ft across both floors: the Grand Dining Room and Vault downstairs, and the Pearl Room, Locket Room and Mirror Bar upstairs. The venue lists up to 550 guests for a cocktail reception and a few hundred for a seated meal. Chef Chris Santos's sharing menu adapts to passed plates and stations, and each floor has its own full bar.

Two bars, a lounge and several rooms keep a large party moving.
