A former 1849 synagogue with vaulted Gothic arches, and a runway venue that designers have returned to for decades.
The Angel Orensanz Foundation fills a neo-Gothic building from 1849 on Norfolk Street, the oldest surviving synagogue building in New York. Tall pointed arches, a wraparound balcony and worn painted walls give the room a raw, dramatic feel.
The main floor covers 7,000 sq ft and holds up to 300 standing or about 260 seated. The 3,500 sq ft balcony adds room for around 200 more. A green room and prep area support the event, and producers bring in their own lighting and staging.

Alexander McQueen staged shows here, and NYFW shows returned in 2025 and 2026.
